Beer Pizza Dough (For Black and Decker Bread Machine)
- 1 cup beer, room temperature (or use water)
- 1 tablespoon soft shortening (or use olive oil)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 3/4 cups white flour (unbleached flour is fine)
- 1 1/4 teaspoons dry yeast
Place the 6 ingredients in order listed into the bread pan (starting with the beer).
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for using the dough setting, or just make it like regular bread, mix, let it rise, beat it down and knead then spread.
Remove dough from bread pan, cover with clean tea towel and let rest 5 minutes.
Roll and shape dough into a round, and cover with your favorite pizza toppings, cook until golden brown, at the temperature and settings you like for making pizza.
This is quite honestly one of the best pizza dough recipes I have ever had. To my understanding it only was included in the Canadian version of the Black and Decker bread machine recipes, good thing I have Canadian relatives
