Granny’s Chili Spaghetti
- 2-tablespoon butter or margarine
- 3 tablespoon chopped onion (to taste)
- ¼ cup diced green pepper (or however much you like – or use red too)
- ½ pound ground chuck (I use 1 pound ground round)
- 1 no 2 can tomatoes (2 ½ cups – I like the diced kind)
- 1 – 6 oz can tomato paste (2/3 cup)
- 1 no 303 can kidney beans, drained (the regular size)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2-teaspoon chili powder
- ½ pound spaghetti
Sauté onion and green pepper until tender, add beef and sauté until lightly browned. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt and chili powder. Cook over a low heat stirring occasionally for 30 minutes. Cook spaghetti. Add beans to sauce, heat and serve - I usually throw the beans into the pan with the rest of the ingredients. – can add a few red chili peppers if want to spice up the sauce a little.
